This image shows an injured casualty being unloaded from the HEMS ( helicopter emergency medical service ) helicopter air ambulance on the roof of The Royal London hospital. We had just flown back from central London where the doctors and paramedics had spent an hour trying to rescue and stabilise him after a fall off scaffolding on a building site. He sustained serious head injuries and and went into cardiac arrest in the air. Upon arrival at the hospital he was taken to the accident and emergency unit. |
